Stolpaw recommends mounting to be undertaken by specialist companies.
The doors should be fitted in a prepared construction opening, vertical along its side walls and horizontal along its top and bottom planes. It is recommended that dimensions of the mounting apertures be 2 and 4 cm larger in the vertical and horizontal planes. Door frames should be mounted on solid-structure walls made of concrete, brick, breezeblock, etc.
The doors should be fitted in buildings where 'wet' construction work has been completed, after plaster and flooring work have been finished and dry. At the time of finishing work, the door should be adequately protected from paints, plasters, and chemical agents in rooms with adequate ventilation.
Order of mounting operations:
- Unpack the door making sure not to damage the lacquer coating.
- Check quality and quantity of elements to be assembled – do not mount damaged doors (see section 9 of the Guarantee Card) and make sure the goods conform with the order.
- Dismount the wing from the frame, put safely away to protect against damage during the operation.
- Securely place the frame in the opening, making sure to keep vertical and horizontal planes and straight angles between the particular elements.
- Fix the frame by means of top wedges and side wedges with spacers. All the wedges used to set the frame cannot absolutely serve as permanent fixtures – they must be removed after the fitting foam has hardened.
- On wedging securely, mount the wing and adjust the gap between the frame and the door wing (it should be approximately 3-4 mm).
- Check if the wing contacts the frame, the lock is functioning, and a clearance is present.
- Secure the frame to the wall with a minimum of six dowels or anchors, three to each side of the frame (by means of anchors or bolts to be secured under the seal), mounted about 30cm from the top and bottom, and one in the middle.
- Fill the gaps between the wall and the frame with mounting foam (protect the frame with paper adhesive tape). When the foam has hardened, remove its excess and carefully remove the tape – too long glue action may damage the lacquer coat.
- Where anchors are used, use a spacer to prevent the frame from bending at the time the foam hardens.
- Adjust the wing setting if necessary by screwing in or out, as appropriate, the three adjusting screws in each hinge. Each door is inspected and adjusted at the final stage of manufacture and such corrections may be needed due to assembly issues.
- Mount: pads, handles, ornamental hinge caps.
